THE WAY TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Resurrection and Life (John 11:25)

Welcome to the house of meditation and prayer the Spirit Life Centre for All Nations. Invite the Holy Spirit to fall afresh upon you, to enter your soul and to make your heart His dwelling place as you give thanks to Him who favoured you and gave grace enough to stand freely in His presence this morning. Give thanks to the Holy Spirit who helped you to come to His working place where He will work in your heart and life according to the Will of the Father for you today. Ask the Holy Spirit to work the works of Christ in your heart and establish you in Himself so that you will stand firm in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free from the rulers and powers of this world. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven does not feel. Jesus Christ will not allow anything out of His control to happen to His followers. So, Christ is aware of whatever happens to His followers, it is as it should be by divine Will. There are reasons to be sorrowful but there is a greater reason not to be.

Jesus says in John 14:1-4, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Please find out the way and the place Jesus was referring to as you read today’s message: THE WAY TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

In John 14:6, Jesus Christ tells us that He is the Beginning, Middle and End. To get to the Kingdom of God, we must follow the way of the Cross. The way of the Cross is the way to the Kingdom of God. When we look at the way to the Kingdom of God, we see hatred, intimidation, blackmail, slanderous remarks, campaigns of calumny, name-calling and the like. This shows that the way to the Kingdom of God is full of thorns, snakes and scorpions pointing us to troubles, problems and oftentimes to death. The highway to the Kingdom of God starts on this side of death and the entrance is very easy to find. It is right in front of you, in the Word of God. The Word of Jehovah God you have in your heart and mouth carries you beyond sense knowledge – what you feel and what you see, into the very presence of God and gives you a right standing there – there you meet Jehovah God face to face. That is, there we truly rest, for then, the heart is free from cares and the body is free from labour.

To a true believer, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Death to a believer is his release from the imprisonment of this world and his departure to the enjoyment of another world. He does not cease to be but he is only being transmuted or removed from one world to another- a world of glory. Those who are born from above long to be there. It is the character of true believers that they dwell in the secret place of the Most High God. They will return to Him and rest in Him. That is, when they die, they go into eternal glory and have no question to answer for they are done with sin, temptation and trouble of this world. A man may die young and be satisfied with living but a wicked man is not satisfied even with long life. When a wicked man dies, he goes into further conflict for he has more questions to answer than when he was alive. So, whether a man dies old or young, what matters is the grace to continue living hereafter. Premature or physical death only enhances our spiritual transition towards God for when we die in the body, we continue to live in the spirit.

John said in Revelation 14:13, “Then I heard a voice from Heaven saying to me, ‘write: Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord from now on’. ‘Yes’, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, and their works follow them”. Followers of Christ, this world is not our home; we are just passing through to the Kingdom of God – our resting place. As Temples of the Living God, we are marching towards Heaven – our destination, in the Name of Jesus Christ and the gates of hades shall not prevail against us. As believers, we refuse to be stopped by what is seen, heard, what people do or say, and what our circumstances look like. We acknowledge that we are firmly held by the immovable and inseparable hands of the Most High God – the hands of God’s love which have covered our sins. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Nobody and nothing can! For I am persuaded that neither death or life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Jesus Christ who keeps us day and night, has vowed that none of His sheep shall perish (Romans 8:38-39).

I believe that Jesus Christ is greater than all the combined forces of hell and earth. He has conquered death for our sake and His purpose was to bring us to His Father in Heaven. The divine power of Heaven is engaged for the accomplishment of that purpose. This is the purpose: Jesus Christ came to restore the relationship between God and men and to re-establish the wholeness and glory that men had before the fall. He came to seek and save the lost. Brethren in Christ Jesus, Jesus is calling you to change. Get ready to repent and be saved from your sins right now. Life is uncertain; death is sure and Christ is the cure. That death is sure should affect the way you live your life today. The Good News is that Jesus died for our sin and broke the power of death by resurrection. Whoever calls on the Name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, with faith in God’s Word, shall be saved. To be saved is to have revelation of the glory of Christ. Revelation of the glory of Christ is ‘Only believe’, our only refuge. So, keep the Word of God in your mouth, meditate in it day and night and do what the Word says, for this is not only the process of believing but also the way to the Kingdom of God. God is building Himself and His Kingdom into us, making Himself a part of us as His Word dominates, rules and sanctifies our spirit nature. This shows that God and His Kingdom are within us in the Living Word. The God, who created us, now dwells within us in the Living Word. That is, Heaven is in our heart. Heart means spirit.

We need no more to make us happy than to have our Lord, Jesus Christ with our spirits, for in Him all spiritual blessings are summed up. Jesus knows that man has a living soul; therefore; the happiness Jesus gives us is for eternity. Eternal life is the joy and chief good of the immortal soul. May the Kingdom of God be established in your heart in Jesus Christ Name.

When you talk about Kingdom, you talk about the authority of the word of the one who speaks it or rulership of his word. In other words; when we talk about the Kingdom of God, we talk about the authority and ruler ship of God’s Word in our hearts. Primarily a king is often known by the authority of his word. I mean wherever his word is obeyed with fear and trembling that is his kingdom. When as a believer you obey the Word of God with fear and trembling in your heart that shows that you are under His Kingdom; His authority, His rulership. Acts 17:1 to the end but take note of verse 7. You cannot embrace a king without first embracing his word. I mean you cannot embrace Jesus Christ as King without first embracing His Word in and with all your heart. Once again; may the Kingdom of God be established in your heart and life in Jesus’ Name. In the light of the last paragraph; ‘May the authority and rulership of Jehovah God’s Word be established in your heart in Jesus Christ Name’. Amen!

  • Faith makes us to please Jehovah God but love makes us to be like unto God.

  • It is not how big you are but how true.

  • It is not who you are but how genuine you are that counts in life.
