THE SEED OF YOUR HEART
Resurrection and Life (John 11:25)
Welcome to the House of Meditation and Prayer, the Spirit Life Centre for All Nations. When you work out your salvation every day, this gives the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit the opportunity to work in you, work with you, work around you, work for you, and work through you. Because salvation is what Jehovah God wants for all mankind. So we advise you, please, as you do much work in your day, NEVER forget to do the work of your salvation in Jesus Christ’s Name.
Do you know that wars begin because of words; broken homes happen because of words? There is a proverb that says, ‘Words can be likened to an egg. Once they are spoken out, they cannot be retracted.’ The same applies to an egg. Have you ever seen an egg drop and its contents being put back into the shell with the shell arranged to its original position? No! The same applies to you today. Many have spoken words that they regret. Do you know that when you speak any word, whether positive or negative, you are filling the air? Words have forms and can sometimes be solid and other times abstract. Abstract, I mean empty. They are solid in the sense that your words can be effective when spoken according to Jehovah God’s Word. The universe was created with words. Idle words can entertain men, but cannot reach God. Words have the capacity to make and unmake. I mean to bind and to loose. Your words can either build people up or pull them down. It can either free you or put you in trouble.
Words have immeasurable significance. In essence, the words you speak determine the life you enjoy (Proverbs 18:20-21). Do you want to speak? Pause a minute and think about what your usual conversations have been like. Is your speech profitable to others? Do your words build others up or pull them down? Above all, do your words glorify God? If we are honest with ourselves, we must admit that much of our conversations is nothing more than empty talk. Our Lord Jesus Christ warned us against speaking idle words. I mean, words that do not edify or build others up, because for every word a man speaks, he shall be accountable. In Matthew 12:30-36, we are told that God takes perfect cognizance of every word we say, even that which we ourselves do not notice. Vain and idle talk is a product of a vain and idle heart; they are unprofitable and not pleasing to Jehovah God Almighty. The Holy Bible says our mouth actually reveals what is in our heart. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. That is the connection between the heart and the mouth. There will be an account given of the words spoken by our mouths. If they are not according to the truth of Jehovah God’s Word, they will be idle, meaningless, and oftentimes destructive. Just as it was in the case of the Seven Sons of Sceva in the Book of Acts 19:13-16.
If the words you speak are according to the truth of Jehovah God’s Word, whatever you say will be accompanied by signs. What are those signs? Cast out demons. Ask Paul and Silas in the Book of Acts 16:16-18, and they would tell you that speaking forth God’s Word puts satan to flight, for when God is talking, the spirit of satan is silenced. You will lay hands on the sick, and they shall be healed. Ask Peter in the Book of Acts of the Apostles, chapter 9:32-42, and he would tell you that God’s Word is made health to all flesh. Whose flesh? I mean those who seek and attend to the subject in the matter of salvation, healing, and all of Jehovah God’s blessings. Your words are indeed important. YOU CANNOT SPEAK CONTRARY (OPPOSITE) TO GOD’S WORD AND EXPECT TO WIN HIS BLESSING. What you think is very important in the sense that your thoughts greatly influence your actions. It is what you meditate on in your heart that you speak forth. Therefore, what is not good for meditation is not good for conversation. The mind is never free. It is either you think good or you think bad, you think doubt, or you think faith. As a Christian, you are what you are by the meditation of your heart and the confession of your lips. With your words, you constantly paint a public picture of your inner self.
Speaking of your inner self, remember God has entrusted us with a treasury. The heart is the treasury, and the words are the things brought out of the treasury. It is the character of a good man that he has a good treasure in his heart and from there, he brings forth good things. Love, kindness, good affection, tenderness, wisdom of utterance, power of counsel, and good knowledge are all good treasures hidden in the heart; the law of God has written and kept them there, ready for use as the occasion demands.
It is the character of an evil man that he has an evil treasure in his heart and out of it, brings forth evil things but the child of Jehovah God bears the image of his Heavenly Father by being good and by doing good, knowing that the words we speak, the conversations we have with people, the sermons we preach are part of the talents we are entrusted with. They shall be evidence for or against us on the last day. When your words are positive, the air around you will be filled with positive things. I mean, the air around you would be charged with positive ideas, opportunities, and goodwill. This is why it is important that we fill the air with positive talk. Your words express your thoughts, which are the seed of your life. Your life will always go to the level of your words. So, consequently, it is not only our thinking that builds power or weakness into us, but also our conversation. I mean our words do (Numbers 14:2-4, 26-29).
What does not qualify for meditation does not qualify for conversation. Therefore, capture your thoughts. If you must speak, think first. It is not bad to think a thing as it is to say it. Thoughts may come and persist in staying but you should refuse to put them into words. I mean, they die unborn because ‘into words’ here means ‘into action’. Words spoken in harmony with God’s Word work wonders. How? If you have taken God’s Word into your heart and truly made it part of you, it will, by its very nature, change you, and when it does, you will find yourself called to act. If your heart and your mind are filled with God’s Word, you will speak God’s Word at all times. I implore you today to capture your thoughts and endeavor to make God’s Word the standard for your life, then you will be able to maintain your inward resources, i.e., faithfulness, kindness, self-control, purity, etc., because whatever is rooted in God’s Word is permanent.
Remember, to be born again is not of corruptible but of incorruptible seed – the Word which liveth and abideth in you. The Word is the seed of the heart, I mean the seed of your life.
Here I drop my pen, leaving you with this prayer.
PRAYER:
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I may love only what is holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work too may be holy. Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy in Jesus Christ’s Name.
Thank you very much for your time. Please remember that time spent with the Savior Jesus Christ is a time spent in salvation. The Lord blesses you for choosing Him today above many things that would have kept you busy.
